UCLA Health and David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA have launched the 3rd Annual Helping U Help Your Community competition to seek innovative solutions to critical health issues in the Los Angeles region. This annual competition will identify the most transformative partnerships between UCLA faculty and community partners and fund projects most likely to make a difference in the health of Los Angeles and beyond.
Last year, this competition garnered a lot of interest and excitement within the University and the surrounding community. Over 30 projects were submitted that garnered over 6,500 votes from the community!
The “Helping U Help Your Community” contest provides support to community-partnered academic research and service-learning projects that address the most critical health needs of Los Angeles residents in innovative and effective ways. The competition also aims to showcase UCLA faculty and community partners who devote their careers to identifying creative solutions to some of the most challenging barriers to good health in the community.
A panel of UCLA-appointed judges will identify the first round of finalists, and the final selections will be made by voters throughout the community.
